Closure order granted in Great Yarmouth

A closure order for a property on Kent Square in Great Yarmouth has been granted by the courts, following ongoing issues with anti-social behaviour and drug complaints.

Reports made to police included loud noise at all hours of day and night, concerns of drug dealing, drug use and other anti-social behaviour.

The Great Yarmouth Operational Partnership Team and the Safer Neighbourhood Team worked closely to address the concerns raised about the property.

Officers attended Great Yarmouth Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Wednesday 30 July 2025) to seek a closure order under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.

The full closure order was granted for a period of three months from the date of issue, making it a criminal offence for anyone except certain agencies to be inside the property.

Local Beat Manager PC Chusonis said: “The anti-social behaviour displayed from this property has had a significant negative impact on the surrounding community, and the closure order will hopefully offer an immediate reprieve to the other residents of Kent Square.”
